Nemate is a pesticide-fertilizer formulation that combines the pesticidal properties of neem with potassium compounds to reduce the intake of inorganic fertilizers and improve soil quality. Excessive use of synthetic fertilizer has resulted in pesticide resistant pests, and agricultural land becoming deficient in potassium.

Initial support of Villgro aimed at refinement of the product formulation, field trials and standardization of shelf life. Subsequently Villgro marketed the product through its network of Villgro store and also held discussions with other retailers, such as Viswas and IDEI, to market Nemate through their channels. A business plan was developed with Villgro support.
