Range of contribution to the sector - policy advocacy, research to grass-root interventions. In 1996, he founded People’s Vigilance Committee on Human Right (PVCHR) to work on the issues of dalits in 1996. He has done advocacy through Asian Human Right Commission, and its local partner FRWA. He had strived to provide basic amenities to the Musahr and other daltis of Varanasi region. He adopted three villages from Varanasi region and set as model to these villages. Apart from this PVCHR has developed psychological therapy with the cooperation of Research and Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victim (RCT), Denmark , which provides psychological healing to the survivors of police torture and organized violence. He also developed a strong web system to spread the issues at every level and make it accessible to all. Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, an Ayurvedic physician by training, for several years has been working for the rights of bonded and child labourers and other marginalized people in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, India. Credibility and Stature in the sector: His works has been acknowledged not only national level but also international level. Ashoka Fellow from Ashoka;Innovator for public USA, Gwanju Human Right Award 2007 by May, 18 Memorial Foundation of South Korea and ACHA Peace Star Award for 2008 by Association for Communal Harmony in Asia USA. |
